English desk supported by truncated pyramid feet with brass sabot, features three drawers in the belt; the central top has a Moroccan insert that can be raised like a lectern and is equipped with a U-shaped shelf with drawers. Made of mahogany, it has a gallery veneered in brass. The name "Carlton House Desk" derives from the London residence of the future George IV, for which George Hepplewhite designed and built this model in the 18th century.
