Liqueur service in glazed stoneware signed Denbac – France, 1950s–60s

Superb stoneware liqueur service signed Denbac, emblematic of post-war French ceramics. The set consists of a slender bottle with its decorative ceramic stopper, eight matching cups, and a plate that serves as a tray. A complete composition, both functional and decorative, which has become difficult to find in this condition and with so many elements. Each piece features remarkable flamed glaze work, blending deep blue, nuanced grey, and honey brown shades. The natural drips, characteristic of stoneware firings, create unique organic effects and give the whole a true sculptural presence. The bottle, with its fluid line and elegant handle, fits into an aesthetic that is both modernist and artisanal, typical of Denbac productions. The cups, compact and textured, perfectly complement the set, while the tray unifies the composition and makes it an ideal piece for serving as well as for decoration.
