Magnificent candlestick, candle holder, double metal chandelier, a true icon of Brutalist design from the 1960s-1970s. A strong and sculptural handcrafted piece. Comes from a country house in the south of France. Originates from an old private mansion in the Vosges. Large links of curved and hand-welded wrought iron chain, defying gravity to form a superb asymmetrical arc with 2 lights. Stable tripod base made of thick hammered metal, notched at the edges with beautiful raw textures. Bowls: Equipped with central spikes to securely hold large candles or tapers. Finish: Beautiful nuanced gold/bronze patina that highlights the welding work and the grain of the metal. Height: 28 cm. Perfect vintage condition, not very heavy and solid structure, robust and stable. Original patina with superb roughness that adds to the charm of this unique handmade piece.
