A striking FM62 armchair designed by Radboud van Beekum for Pastoe in 1981. The chair is defined by its strong geometric construction, combining a black tubular steel frame with a suspended black leather seat and backrest. The open cubic framework gives the chair an architectural and almost graphic presence, while the leather softens the strict geometry of the design. Highly decorative and sculptural, the FM62 is a distinctive example of Dutch postmodern furniture design from the early 1980s. About the Designer Radboud van Beekum is a Dutch designer best known for his FM60 and FM61/62 seating designs for Pastoe. His work is characterized by clear geometric structures and an architectural approach in which construction becomes an essential part of the visual design. Condition Very good condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. The leather shows a beautiful natural aged character. Details Designer: Radboud van Beekum Producer: Pastoe Model: FM62 Origin: Netherlands Year: 1981 Materials: Leather, tubular steel Dimensions H 67 x W 61 x D 69 cm, seat height 39 cm
