In the 1980s, Dutch design emphasised apparent structure and constructive logic. The "FM62" model fully embodies this approach. Designed by Radboud van Beekum for Pastoe, this armchair rests on a matte grey lacquered steel cube frame. The tubular sections and cylindrical joints are deliberately visible. The seat and backrest are made of wide cognac leather straps, stretched between the uprights. The leather forms a soft curve, suspended within the structure, providing straightforward and direct comfort. This pair shows a beautiful patina. The cognac leather reveals natural shades, slightly darker areas, and some visible signs of use, consistent with its age. The metal structure is stable, with minor superficial marks that do not affect its sturdiness. Each armchair measures 66 cm in height, 61 cm in width, and 67 cm in depth. Compact proportions, suitable for a living room, library, or reception area. A coherent set for an architectural interior or a collection attentive to Dutch design from the 1980s.
