Industrial Island Counter in Steel and Walnut, 1970s

Important industrial island workbench, completely restored, with a rust effect finish and a light solid walnut top. Officina di Ricerca has overseen the restoration of this industrial workbench, whose structure has been sandblasted and acid-treated to achieve a natural rust finish on the iron parts, including the fronts of the six drawers. The frame has been polished and finished with a two-component clear varnish to secure the effect. The six drawers have original chrome steel handles. The worktop, 5 cm thick (2.5 cm in solid walnut), comes from a mid-20th century rectory table, sanded and finished with wax to enhance the natural grain. The upper bridge, with a wooden shelf, is equipped with a longitudinal pulley with 8 sliding hooks, known as a "gantry", which can be removed via two bolts to create a standard flat workbench. The feet are insulated from the ground with robust rubber felt and are prepared for the attachment of 4 wheels (included) to facilitate movement. Ideal as a central work table, with drawers on both sides. Dimensions: total height 203 cm, maximum shelf height 93.5 cm, shelf height without wheels 81.5 cm, depth 80 cm, width 210 cm.
