MARINE watercolor painting on paper affixed to cardboard, signed lower left TB HARDY 1890 representing sailing boats and a boat with crew near a coast with dwellings in a rough sea. Size 30 X 60cm in wooden frame covered with plaster with white and gold friezes (missing parts on the left border and lower right corner). Cardboard back studded with rope for wall hanging. Period label from the framer Dravet in Marseille. - Thomas Bush HARDY (1842 / 1897) is an English painter of the 19th century, known for his watercolors of boats near the English and French coasts (wind against tide, busy shipping scene, fishing boats off a coastal town, etc.). The scene is not located but the fishing boats display a tricolor flag (French?) at the top of their mast. Packaged weight 3kg.
