Set of 5 dessert plates in barbotine, vine leaf model Gien

Set of five dessert plates in faience, vine leaf pattern, Gien manufacture. France, mid-20th century. Moulded and glazed faience plates, featuring a relief decoration of large ribbed leaves arranged in a corolla. Deep green glaze with shiny reflections in the style of barbotine, characteristic of Gien's productions inspired by 19th-century "majolica" services. Scalloped edge with a decoration of slightly raised crosses. Stamped mark "GIEN – France" on the reverse. Production estimated between 1950 and 1970, a period when the manufacture reissued naturalistic models from the previous century. Diameter: 21,5 cm. Overall good condition, with slight signs of use on some pieces. A second lot of six dessert plates of the same model with a mint green glaze is also available.
