Pair of Empire Armchairs

These armchairs rest on saber legs. The lotus-shaped decoration at the joint stops is surmounted on either side by a dolphin's head, forming armrest brackets. The curved armrests are remarkably finished and elegant, full-bodied, perfectly rounded, and exquisitely tapered, ending in a tail that joins the backrest upright. The backrests have slightly curved capitals, the upper sections covered with a beautiful and discreet molded band; the mortise and tenon joint at the back attests to the period (circa 1820). Perfectly stable and comfortable seats, fully reupholstered by a professional. Height 97 cm - Width 60 cm - Depth 58 cm.
