Lectern, indian book holder. This model is from india. It is shisham wood or mango tree. It dates back to the 1970s. It was probably manufactured in the rajasthan or kashmir region. Production area of this type of object. This type of object is still produced but the quality of the sculptures have been simplified to the extreme to increase profitability and the dimensions are much smaller. Leaf decorations, oves, moucharabiehs. The feet are curved and engraved. The object was built without screws, nails or glue sign of quality. Open dimensions: 40 cm. Lets put a heavy book.
