Beautiful and large sommerso murano glass bowl designed by flavio poli (italy, 1960s/1970s). Made of thick red, dark red and transparent murano glass. Perfectly works as a bowl, a catch-all / vide poche or as an ashtray. Width: 17 cm; depth: 12.5 cm; height: 5.5 cm. Very good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks. ''sommerso'' is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1960s/70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly caused by a clear layer.
