Spectacular pair of French Queen-style armchairs from the Louis XV period, upholstered in an original and elegant zebra pattern. The structure, made of carved and polychrome wood in an ivory hue, features sinuous lines on its cabriole legs, which end in a small scroll, curved armrests, and a wavy moulding that runs throughout the frame. The Queen model is distinguished by its straight backrest, designed to offer more presence and comfort. The Queen armchair is a characteristic type of seating in 18th-century French furniture, associated from its inception with the Louis XV style. It is distinguished by its straight backrest (unlike the cabriolet, which is curved), open armrests, and curved cabriole legs. It was a salon seat, intended for women of high society, combining elegance and comfort. Delicate floral and vegetal carvings adorn the wood, subtly highlighting the backrest, topped with a crest, as well as the armrests and the seat's belt. The most remarkable feature is the zebra-pattern upholstery, reminiscent of the creations of the famous American designer Ralph Lauren, who is fond of such combinations, making them truly sought-after pieces. The resulting aesthetic can be interpreted as suitable for a refined English ambiance, a library or an office, as well as for creating more exotic spaces. An excellent opportunity to acquire period pieces with an intrinsic spirit of sophistication and refinement.
