Low chair "Chaise Basse", designed by Charles Dudouyt, made of solid oak and rattan. France, 1950s. Charles Dudouyt (1885-1946) was a French designer and cabinetmaker known for his rustic-modern style. He studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and began his career as an illustrator before dedicating himself to furniture design. In the 1930s, he founded his own workshop, where he created pieces in solid wood with sculptural shapes and carved details. His work is distinguished by the combination of traditional craftsmanship and a solid, contemporary aesthetic.
