Set of 4 brutalist chairs in carved wood and straw – Circa 1940

Magnificent set of 4 brutalist chairs in carved wood and straw from the 1940s. The chairs feature a solid wood structure stained in a warm dark brown tone, with the grain remaining largely visible. Their silhouette is characterised by a backrest with thick vertical posts connected by three horizontal crossbars. The posts end in small turned wooden elements, while the legs echo this same turning work with several rounded shapes resembling small spools. The crossbars of the backrest are particularly remarkable. They are adorned with decorations carved directly into the wood, consisting of geometric patterns and stylised plant forms, resembling small rosettes.
