Scandinavian Glass Wall Lamp from El Light

A wall sconce with an organic form, made of decorative art glass with an irregular color pattern. The translucent pane is rendered in shades of milky white and intense cobalt blue, creating a distinctive, abstract pattern with a texture reminiscent of natural stone. The irregular distribution of colored areas and the smooth transitions between white and blue emphasize the unique character of the glass surface. The wall sconce’s form is strongly adapted to the wall’s surface—its rounded, almost oval shape gently stands out from it. The use of translucent glass allows for even light diffusion while highlighting the material’s decorative pattern. The combination of a sculptural form with expressive glass is a characteristic example of Danish modernist design from the second half of the 20th century. The piece is signed by El Light, a Danish lighting manufacturer whose designs from the 1970s include, among other things, wall sconces featuring decorative glass with a marbled texture.
