Striking vintage Italian ceramic wall plaque. Marked “Made in Italy” and numbered 175 on the reverse. The elongated. Organically shaped plaque depicts a highly stylised young woman surrounded by flowers and foliage. The combination of her oversized bouffant hairstyle. Graphic features and bold colours gives the piece a wonderful late 1960s / early 1970s Italian pop aesthetic. Beautifully detailed with fine incised linework and raised glazed decoration in pink. Green. Yellow. Orange and white. Set against a deep glossy ruby-red background. The contrast with the matte dark figure makes the design particularly striking. Approx. 28 × 12 cm. Original hanging wire remains on the reverse. Good vintage condition. A very decorative piece of vintage Italian wall ceramics. Perfect for a gallery wall.
