Bronze "Vagabond and his dog" – Bouchard – Siot Foundry – Lost wax

Bronze sculpture in lost wax representing an old vagabond dressed in a long coat with troubled folds and a turned-down hat, leaning towards a dog in a gesture of complicity. Work signed by Henri Louis Bouchard (1875-1960), a French academic sculptor, awarded at the Salon. The simple rectangular base bears the artist's signature, the rectangular foundry stamp SIOT, as well as the mention "Lost wax", attesting to the unique character or very limited edition of this piece. The patina is a nuanced brown, with golden reflections and traces of verdigris in the recesses, indicating the age of the piece. The surface treatment is expressive and textured, rendered with great realism in the treatment of the drapery. Very slight wear on the patina, with no intervention necessary. Dimensions: H. 38 cm – W. 23.5 cm – D. 15.5 cm. Weight: 5 kg.
