Small ancient glazed ceramic cat from the 19th century.

Charming little antique cat in glazed ceramic from the late 19th century. Sitting upright on its small light blue base, it features a delightfully naive shape and a particularly endearing expression. Its face is hand-painted: large blue eyes outlined in black, a small snout, whiskers, and ears tipped with black. The claws are also drawn with a fine black line. Due to its shape and craftsmanship, this small figurine evokes the English animal productions of the Staffordshire type from the 19th century, particularly cats sitting on coloured bases. The figurine is hollow and has a large original firing opening underneath the base. A small antique object full of personality, perfect for adding to an authentic and whimsical decor.
