Adorable covered pot in polychrome earthenware, decorated and signed (in the decor) by maurice fouillen in the workshop founded by his father, paul fouillen (signature p. Fouillen quimper below). Its shape is charming, all round, with its 4 small ball feet on the body which forms a sphere with its lid, and the two well-rounded handles too. The decor of stylized plant motifs is typical of paul fouillen's workshop but more colorful than other works with touches of green, yellow, pink, burgundy... Paul fouillen opened his ceramic workshop in quimper in 1929 after having learned the ropes and quickly becoming head decorator in the hb earthenware factory. His son maurice, trained in the family workshop, took it over in 1958 after paul's sudden death and kept it going with around twenty employees until 1980. Then he continued to produce pieces, all by himself, until the 90s for passionate collectors, the "fougnenistes" as he called them. This pot is in good general condition, no cracks but it has a small chip on the edge of the lid (hardly visible if placed at the back, and which could easily be restored or just hidden). It measures 18 cm wide including handles, 13 cm in diameter at the pot, 13 cm high.
