Solid oak coffee table

Made from quality oak from a private forest in normandy, this coffee table is entirely handmade by me and my partner, with careful consideration of design and using exclusively artisanal techniques. Part of my gouvernail series, it sports a rectangular top with rounded edges and rests on four sturdy legs with some subtle but charming medullary markings, which are an indication of well-cut and sturdy oak. Each piece is cut, shaped, then carefully selected and arranged to respect the natural pattern of the oak, ensuring that the table is unique and aesthetically pleasing. It follows my trademark with carefully hand-carved, sanded and honed edges, bringing refinement, softness and sophistication to the whole. It goes elegantly with the gouvernail side table. The four layers of varnish in a warm walnut stain protect the wood and improve its durability. I used very fine sandpaper between each layer, achieving a polished and smooth surface while preserving the texture of the wood and natural elements to the touch.
