Antique wooden secretary in classic style
A classic-style secretary dating probably from the first half of the 20th century, featuring a moulded drop-down front and ornate metal handles. Made from wood with warm tones — likely cherry or fruitwood given its fine and luminous grain — it opens to reveal a writing space lined with green leather bordered by a gilded frieze, as well as several small drawers and storage compartments. Its compact proportions and timeless elegance make it a choice piece for creating a refined office corner in a bedroom or living room. Condition: The furniture is sound, perfectly stable and functional (the drop-down front opens and closes correctly, and the drawers slide easily). The wood shows a beautiful well-maintained patina of time: only a few superficial micro-scratches from use and very discreet nuances on the varnish are noted. Tiny signs of use that are full of charm, testifying to its authenticity without detracting from its overall appearance.
