Ancient Empire desk in walnut with marble top, Italy, 19th century.

Walnut Empire-style desk dating from the early 19th century, featuring an elegant and refined structure. The top is made of white marble, providing a robust and valuable surface, while the balustrade is adorned with a central shell sculpture and eagle heads on the sides, details that evoke the Empire style. The belt beneath the top houses three drawers, embellished with sculpted corners of acanthus leaves, adding a touch of sophistication. The lyre-shaped legs, ending in scrolls, are connected by a moulded shelf, bringing stability and aesthetic harmony. The interiors in poplar reveal careful craftsmanship.
