Large antique English basin A.B & Co May pattern – flow blue floral

Large antique basin in printed English earthenware, featuring a blue-grey floral design of the flow blue/transferware type, marked on the reverse A.B & Co – MAY under a crown. This beautiful piece corresponds to an old English wash basin, likely part of a bedroom set originally comprising a basin and a matching jug. The decor is very elegant, showcasing large blue-grey floral compositions arranged around the inner and outer edges, with a slightly diffused effect typical of the so-called "flow blue" English prints. The shape is wide, deep, and highly decorative. The A.B & Co mark is attributable to British production from the late 19th or very early 20th century. Several English manufacturers used these initials, which necessitates cautious attribution, but the piece clearly fits within the tradition of printed English earthenware from this period.
