Small antique Japanese cabinet with sliding doors made of Japanese cedar, dating from the early Showa period (around 1926–1945). This type of compact furniture was used in Japanese homes for storing everyday items, textiles, or household utensils. The piece features a simple and functional structure with two sliding doors providing access to an interior space equipped with shelves. This design reflects the practical design and space optimisation characteristic of traditional Japanese interiors. The cabinet is made of Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), a wood valued for its lightness, stability, and natural fragrance. The surface retains a warm patina developed over time. Signs of use, slight wear on the edges, and variations in colour contribute to the authenticity and character of the piece. Today, this cabinet can be used as a small storage unit, a side table, or a decorative element bringing a minimalist and calming aesthetic. Details. Origin: Japan.
