About Ivan Weiss: Ivan Søren Weiss Hansen (born 23 July 1946 in Copenhagen) is a Danish ceramist. At the age of 16, he began training as an overglaze painter at the Royal Porcelain Factory, where he worked under artistic director and chief ceramist Nils Thorsson. From 1970 to 1972, he studied ceramics in Hagi, Japan, where he specialised in throwing bowls and firing ceramics. These years had a major influence on his style, with Chinese and Japanese calligraphy in particular influencing him. Back in Denmark, he was hired permanently and worked at Royal Copenhagen until 2004. The vase is delivered securely packaged and insured.
