Sale only in sets of 4 or 8. — This homogeneous set of eight armchairs combines a cantilever structure made of chrome-plated steel tubes with a seat and backrest upholstered in black faux leather, placing the whole within the Italian series furniture of the 1980s, influenced by the modernist legacy of the armless chair. A "Made in Italy" label, located on the underside of the seat, confirms its Italian origin. Each chair is constructed around a continuous tubular loop that serves as the base, front supports, and armrests. The seat appears to float within this frame. The backrest, with an irregular oval or "kidney" shape, is attached to the armrests and supported by two tubular rods descending towards the back of the seat. This composition creates a more enveloping silhouette than a classic cantilever chair while maintaining the transparency of the overhang. The cantilever seat (without rear legs) emerged in the avant-garde tubular furniture of the second half of the 1920s. The set offered reinterprets, several decades later, a structural principle that has become commonplace. The eight armchairs have the same dimensions, structure, fittings, and upholstery. Four of them are in very good condition. The other four, in good condition, show some or all signs of wear: localized lifting of the upholstery, occasional marks, or chrome pitting. These alterations are consistent with age and do not affect the overall aesthetic. — Dimensions per chair: H. 78 × W. 55.5 × D. 53 cm. Seat height: 43.5 cm. Armrest height: 64.5 cm.
