Bentwood stool from the late 19th or early 20th century, made by the company Jacob & Josef Kohn (Austria-Hungary). Kohn was a competitor of Thonet, with whom it temporarily merged after World War I, during the Great Depression. This piano stool is made of solid beech and has a curved plywood seat. The curved legs of the wide base are connected by a wooden cross. Very stable, its height is adjustable from 46 cm to about 64 cm thanks to a steel rod. This rod slides smoothly with minimal play. The stool is covered with black lacquer, chipped in places. It bears the original Kohn stamp under the seat. Beautiful collector's piece in good original condition, showing some signs of wear. Height 46 - 64 cm. Seat diameter 38 cm. Base diameter 50 cm. Weight 6250 g.
