Single Mid-Century Belgian Swivel Armchair Attributed to Rudi Verelst

A striking mid-century Belgian swivel armchair, attributed to Rudi Verelst for Novalux, dating from the 1970s. This sculptural armchair combines an elegant chromed steel wire frame with generously padded black Skai leather upholstery, broad upholstered armrests and a distinctive white lacquered metal trumpet base. The open wire construction gives the chair a remarkably light and architectural appearance, while the generous proportions and enveloping form create a comfortable and supportive seat. The chair is equipped with a swivel mechanism, allowing the seat to rotate smoothly and adding an extra layer of functionality to its sculptural design. The combination of black upholstery, polished chrome and the contrasting white pedestal creates a particularly strong Space Age aesthetic.
