Pair of 1950s Easy Chairs by Bengt Ruda for Nordiska Kompagniet, Sweden

A rare and very cool pair of Bengt Ruda midcentury beech easy chairs designed around mid 1950 and produced around the same time by Nordiska Kompaniet (NK), Sweden’s premiere department store. Manufactured in NK’s factories in Nyköping. Low, cool and very much in trend with the styles of the time a premier example of Swedish 1950's design. Lacquered in a black stain. Re-upholstered in blue and black fabric. Overall very good condition, solid and sturdy.
