Set of Finnish Polaris swivel chairs by Eero Aarnio for Asko Export, 1970s

A unique pair of 'Polaris' swivel chairs, designed by Eero Aarnio for Asko Export in the 1970s. These chairs are in original and good condition. The 'Polaris' chairs were originally designed in 1966, and this upholstered, swivel version with a cut-out on the backrest was produced in limited numbers. The style combines elements from Eero Aarnio's 'Polaris', 'Viking', and 'Captain' projects. The original upholstery is in good condition with visible signs of use. The chairs feature the typical Asko rotation system in the centre of the aluminium leg. They are signed and showcase excellent workmanship and a timeless design.
