Gibson & Sons Victorian Coffee Service

19th century victorian coffee service from the english manufacturer gibson & sons. 6 coffee cups, 6 saucers, 1 tea cup and 1 sugar bowl with lid. The black background highlights the hand-painted pattern: refined and delicate gold decoration beaded with relief details in turquoise, orange and white. Each piece is marked on the back with the gibson & sons crest or mentions "victoria - rdn°300283 -made in england". "victoria" is the name of the model created and manufactured in 1897 by gibson & sons on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the reign of queen victoria. The number rdn°300283 allows us to date this one from 1897 because in 1884, gibson & sons set up a register with a numbering system to prevent copying. The pieces are in very good condition, without chips, chips or cracks, with of course slight wear due to time and use on the decoration of the cups and the sugar bowl has lost some of its bright colors.
