This version of the Tulip table comes from the first owner, who acquired it in 1980 at the high-end German furniture house Pesch Wohnen, together with a set of six original Knoll Tulip chairs. The table is built around an original Knoll base and combined with an extendable wooden top that was supplied through this furniture house at the time. As such, it is not a standard catalog model, but a carefully composed variation as often offered in the early 1980s within the higher segment, where custom work and design came together. The flowing central base carries the design with its characteristic balance, while the top – produced in Baden-Württemberg – adds a functional dimension. In its closed form, the table remains compact and clean in line; extended to 190 cm, it opens into a more generous setting suited for gathering. Featuring a Knoll engraving underneath the base. In very good original vintage condition, with signs of use consistent with age. This combination of an original design foundation with a practical extension gives the piece a distinct character. A less common variation that not only highlights the design itself, but also reflects how design was assembled and offered in that period.
