Vintage convex and concave funhouse mirror - 20th century

Classic funhouse mirror, often referred to as a distortion mirror or trick mirror. Unlike standard flat mirrors, this mirror uses curved surfaces to manipulate light: the convex parts diffuse light rays, making reflections appear smaller or larger, while the concave parts concentrate light, stretching the image to make it look bigger. Complex distortions are created by combining these different curves on the same surface to produce playful and exaggerated proportions. Material: vintage bevelled mirror with a black painted wooden frame and silver-painted edging. Wear consistent with age and use: a few spots on the mirror - everything is visible in our photos.
