Aldo Rossi. Ed. Molteni. Italy, 1985. "Teatro" chair in black lacquered wood and light grey leather. H 77 X W 55.5 X D 50 cm. The Teatro seating series was born from a collaboration between Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda in 1982. This creation aimed to enrich the space of a small theatre in Milan, from which it also derives its name. The Teatro seats are distinguished by their simple and rigorous form, with a structure in walnut or lacquered wood. Their charm lies in their harmonious proportions, meticulous details, and the gentle curves of their architecture, such as the elegant loop that adorns the backrest and armrest. The Teatro Open variant, designed in 1988 and made of metal, retains the distinctive lines of its predecessor. What sets it apart without a doubt is its seat made of "a maglia molle" tempered steel mesh, offering high resistance. Despite its sturdiness, this chair weighs only 2.8 kg.
