Venetian slant-front desk from the 18th century with grotesque decoration. Magnificent and rare Venetian secretary/slant-front desk from the late 18th century. Green patina with a beautiful decoration of grotesques and arabesques in Bologna red. The body of the piece is made of softwood, specifically larch from Venice. A detailed examination of the lacquer confirms that it is absolutely authentic and original, composed of vegetable pigments, plaster, and egg white (no artificial binder in the 18th century).
