Wooden mirror turned in a bamboo style, colonial/exotic — late 19th to early 20th century. This rectangular mirror with retro charm features a turned wooden frame imitating bamboo, with its characteristic circular grooves evoking the natural knots of the plant. The posts extend at the four corners into pointed tips, a typical trait of the "faux bamboo" style that was highly sought after in France at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, a period when the fascination for colonial exoticism and chinoiseries strongly influenced furniture and decoration.
