Brutalist mug

Handcrafted enameled terracotta mug in blue and brown tones made in france at poterie de la colombe excellent condition height 12cm la poterie de la colombe is a ceramic workshop created and produced in the 50s/60s by madeleine brault in orriule in the pyrénées-atlantiques. We particularly like the elegance given to it by its raw and refined side at the same time. Production now stopped. La colombe pottery is distinguished by its enameled stoneware and the abstract tachist motifs that characterize it. There is also a line with more naive motifs representing a woman in a garden, a very characteristic style of the late 70s. The majority of the production is available in ocher tones, mastic greige and the famous colored spots of a beautiful khaki or dark brown. We also find “blues” including its famous china blue inspired by oriental ceramics.
