Gorgeous portuguese palissy plate depicting a lobster, mussels and shells laying on sand and sea plants. 19th century. Distinctive style of polychrome lead-glazed earthenware characterized by three-dimensional modeled, often aquaric, animals onto large platters. Typically, each component is modeled and painted individually. The plate is really heavy, 2.3kg, and it has a back support to hang it in a wall. It's in perfect condition. It measures 33 cm in diameter and 8 cm high.
