Children's desk in solid elm by F. X. Sproll, Switzerland, around 1960.

Children's desk in solid elm by F. X. Sproll, a furniture manufacturer based in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. It features a rectangular top with rounded corners, supported by an open wooden frame on one side and a closed cabinet on the other. Behind the door are three open compartments and two drawers with recessed handles. We particularly appreciate the craftsmanship, especially the all-wood hinges, the dowel joints, and the carved details, which give an almost organic quality to this otherwise simple design. Switzerland, circa 1960. Vintage condition, signs of wear on the top and frame.
