A refined antique Victorian-era (circa 1880-1900) silver-plated flatware set for desserts, cheese, and other dishes, with carved mother-of-pearl handles, presented in its original box. The box is made of varnished wood (walnut?). A blank brass cartouche adorns the lid and the keyhole. The set comprises 12 knives and 10 forks. The handles of the cutlery are carved mother-of-pearl with a garland of pearls. The forks and knife blades are silver-plated and engraved with scrolling foliage. EXCELLENT CONDITION, hinges are functional, box without a key, the cutlery is in perfect condition, beautiful shine with no silver plating loss, no chips or cracks, the handles are securely attached to the ferrules, blades, and forks, two forks are missing, a blue velvet flap to secure the knife blades in the box is broken and missing, see photos.
