Antique carved wooden tribal mask, early-mid 20th century

Magnificent antique tribal mask in carved wood, probably of african origin and dating from the early to mid-20th century (1920s-1960s). Its raw and expressive aesthetic testifies to traditional craftsmanship, with stylized features and engraved motifs evoking a symbolic meaning. The deep patina and wear of the wood give it a remarkable authenticity, reinforced by traces of use and some lacks that underline its antiquity. The mask has perforations on the outline, probably for ritual wear or fixation. Its dimensions are 21 cm high by 14 cm wide, as visible in the photos with the measuring tape. There is a crack on the top as well as a small hole on the right cheek, elements which in no way alter its cachet.
