Its generous top with widely rounded corners reveals the richness of the elm. Four sculpted legs, slightly concave and set at an angle, accompany the curves of the top in an organic movement. Each leg ends in an arched cut, like a light imprint. Set at an angle, they animate the silhouette of the table while firmly anchoring it to the ground. A warm patina and beautiful shades of colour. Based in Lorraine, Claude Demoyen belongs to that generation of craftsmen who, in the 1970s, renewed solid wood furniture. His workshop will notably create some pieces for Pierre Chapo, but will also develop a personal body of work, recognisable by the simplicity of its forms and the emphasis on wood.
