The famous LC4 chaise longue, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, is one of the most iconic pieces of modernist design. This example, model LC4 no. 1382, was produced by Cassina, the official manufacturer of the piece since the 1960s. The structure consists of a chrome-plated tubular steel frame resting on a black lacquered base, allowing for free adjustment of the chaise longue's inclination. The design follows the principle of the "rest machine," a concept developed by Le Corbusier to provide a natural resting position suited to the body. The piece shows a patina and signs of use related to its age, particularly visible on the seat, which gives it the authentic character of a used modernist piece. An essential classic of 20th-century design.
