Pair of bronze candlesticks from the Meiji period, around 1870.

Wimbledon-Furniture offers for sale this very rare and original pair of Japanese bronze candlesticks from the Meiji period, dating from around 1870. Each candlestick is decorated with finely carved dragons and mounted on a wooden base, secured by bolts sealed with wax. The style and size are more reminiscent of urns, but they feature a hole at the top for candles. Excellent condition, slightly tilted, solid bases without cracks, waxed and polished.
