Antique Colonial VOC Chest, circa 1750-1800

Antique leather-covered spruce colonial chest with key and working lock, and the voc letters in bronze on the lock plate. The black polychrome painted leather was once golden and had a floral decor, which is still partly visible. Clad all around with iron fittings and tacks. Possibly painted black at the end of the 18th century. In fair condition for its age.
