Mirror from the mid-19th century with a pediment — Louis-Philippe period — Gilded stucco wood

Large mirror with a pediment, Louis-Philippe period, mid-19th century, entirely original and unrestored. Narrow and very elongated format (H. 215 cm × W. 70 cm — 50 kg), suitable for trumeaux and spaces between windows. Frame in stuccoed wood and gilded with gold leaf on a red bole ground, visible in worn areas. Wide uprights adorned with a diamond-shaped incised pattern; inner fillet with a string of gilded beads framing the glass at the rounded upper corners. High-quality carved pediment, decorated with a large central shell in relief surrounded by scrolls, acanthus leaves, and flower buds, in a late Rococo spirit. Back made of poplar boards assembled with transverse reinforcement slats, confirming the age of the structure. Natural wear consistent with age: partially missing gilding, localized chips of stucco on the uprights, slight pitting of the glass. Restorations possible upon request and estimate.
