Gueridon with a triangular top resting on three straight legs joined by a stretcher. The whole piece is richly carved, typical of regionalist work from the early 20th century. Stained and carved wood. Triangular top with a chamfer. Peripheral decoration with an inscription in Basque: “hemen pasatu denbora laket izan zaizula” → “Hoping that you enjoyed the time spent here” Uprights decorated with diamond points. Lower stretcher adorned with a Basque cross. One restoration on a corner. **This type of piece is part of the trend of Basque regionalist furniture that was very popular between 1900 and 1930, with a taste for: ** Inscriptions in the Basque language, Identity symbols (Basque cross), Architecturally structured and sculpted forms.
