Pair of solid oak benches, France, 1950s. This type of furniture designed for schools, waiting rooms, and institutions of the French Reconstruction combines robust construction with attention to detail. The oak is thick, the grain very graphic, and the patina is dark and uniform, built up over several decades of collective use. In their original condition, without intervention. The hollowed, slightly curved armrests are the centrepiece: their sculpted profile visually lightens an otherwise very heavy structure. The flat backrest with a rounded top edge and the sled legs connected by a low stretcher complete a set designed to last. The design is part of the French Reconstruction movement, in the spirit of the National Furniture of the 1950s. Reference LDP: 20260420-003. Dimensions: L180 × D43 × H73.5 cm - seat height 45 cm. Materials: Solid oak - in their original condition.
