Scandinavian Slatted Pine Stool

Solid pine stool with slatted seat and frame base, in the rustic-modern idiom of 1970s Swedish design. Solid pine stool of straightforward construction: a seat of parallel slats with rounded edges, square-section legs joined by low stretchers forming a sled-like frame. Worked in generous thicknesses and left exposed, pine was among the most representative woods of 1970s Swedish design, when Scandinavian furniture rediscovered local Nordic timbers and a rural-rooted simplicity. Pronounced grain and a warm honey tone. Good condition. It may show signs of age and use. Please pay close attention to the photographs. AE868
