Jean Boquet "Geometric Abstraction", painting, oil on panel, circa 1945/50. "Geometric Abstraction", Abstract and geometric art, see Art Deco. Dimensions with frame: 41.5 X 36.5 cm. Original framing with fabric mat. Biography: Painter, trained at the Academy of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. He began in a neo-expressionist figurative style (portraits, figures) and evolved towards more geometric landscapes, sometimes snowy mountains and stylised trees (in an Art Deco style) and futuristic and cosmic city views. Due to his taste for synthesis, some works occasionally lean towards geometric abstraction. Bach's music often plays a role in the construction and structure of his compositions. Member of the "L'Ebauche" circle (1952-1966) and from 1960, of the "Jecta" circle.
